Gustavo Gordillo faces scrutiny over luxury Brooklyn home

Gustavo Gordillo, a co-chair of the New York City chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), is facing calls for resignation following reports regarding his personal finances and living arrangements.

Critics, including Brooklyn pastor Rev. Kevin McCall, have highlighted that Gordillo resides in a $1.5 million luxury row house in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, which was reportedly purchased and renovated by his wealthy parents. McCall argued that these revelations, alongside allegations of unpaid rent at a separate property and questions regarding Gordillo’s reported work history in blue-collar trades, undermine the organization’s platform of advocating for the working class.

The controversy has drawn attention from conservative media outlets, which have characterized the situation as a contradiction between Gordillo’s political rhetoric against wealth inequality and his own financial advantages.
