Gustavo Hamer rejoins Coventry City on long-term deal

Coventry City has confirmed the signing of midfielder Gustavo Hamer from Sheffield United on a ‘long-term’ contract. The 29-year-old returns to the club three years after his initial departure.

Hamer previously played for Coventry City from 2020 to 2023, making 132 appearances and scoring 19 goals, an effort that earned him the club’s player-of-the-year award for the 2021-22 season. Following his move to Sheffield United, he competed in the Premier League and recorded 22 goals and 29 assists in 123 appearances across all competitions.

Under the management of Frank Lampard, Coventry City prepares for their Premier League campaign, which begins on August 21 with a match against Arsenal. Hamer will wear the number 38 shirt.
