Gustavo Mejía-Ricart's father calls stabbing a random assault

The father of Gustavo Adolfo III Mejía-Ricart Risk has stated that the stabbing of his son was a random assault rather than a targeted attack. The incident occurred in the Serrallés sector of the Distrito Nacional in the early hours of Saturday, September 12, as the victim was walking toward his residence.

Gustavo A. II Mejía-Ricart dismissed rumors of personal motives or financial disputes, describing such claims as ‘pure speculation.’ He expressed confidence in the evidence being gathered by the Public Ministry to hold the suspect accountable.

Authorities have identified Jhonny González as the individual allegedly responsible for pursuing and wounding Mejía-Ricart Risk with a knife. A hearing to determine coercion measures has been rescheduled for Friday, September 18. Unofficial reports suggest the victim may be discharged from medical care between Thursday and Friday.
