Gustavo Menéndez hosts Ricardo Quintela and León Gieco in Merlo

Merlo Mayor Gustavo Menéndez hosted La Rioja Governor Ricardo Quintela for a public debate titled “Desafíos para la Argentina que viene” at the Enrique Santos Discépolo Municipal Theater. The Peronist leaders discussed Argentina’s political, economic, and social challenges, as well as the future of the Peronist movement.

When asked about potential electoral candidacies, Menéndez stated that it is not the right time to discuss such matters, emphasizing the need to focus on the immediate needs of the people. He acknowledged Quintela’s national significance while noting that other colleagues are also on a similar political path.

In a separate event, the Universidad Nacional del Oeste (UNO) awarded musician León Gieco an honorary doctorate. Rector Gustavo Soos presented the distinction, which celebrates Gieco’s musical contributions to Argentina’s collective memory and his focus on social issues such as inequality and violence.
