Gustavo Osmar Kumiega investigated for sexual abuse and malpractice

Authorities in Resistencia, Chaco, are investigating gynecologist Gustavo Osmar Kumiega following seven formal complaints involving alleged sexual abuse, harassment, and medical malpractice. The complaints, filed between September 23 and October 2, involve six patients and one woman who reported an incident occurring in a private setting.

Patients have reported a pattern of misconduct, including inappropriate sexual comments, the use of expired contraceptives, and non-consensual filming during gynecological examinations. Allegations also include physical discomfort during transvaginal ultrasounds due to a lack of lubricant and improper medical maneuvers. Additionally, several women provided evidence of explicit messages and media sent by the doctor via social media.

The legal proceedings are split between two prosecutorial teams: Equipo Fiscal N° 2, led by Ana González de Pacce, is handling the six patient complaints, while Equipo Fiscal N° 4, led by Jorge Cáceres Olivera, is investigating the report of sexual abuse in a private context.
