Gustavo Puerta to join Nottingham Forest with loan to Olympiacos
Colombian midfielder Gustavo Puerta is set to join Nottingham Forest in a permanent transfer, with an immediate loan move to Olympiacos for the 2026/27 season.
Reports indicate that Nottingham Forest will trigger an €18 million release clause in Puerta’s contract with Racing Santander. As part of the deal, Bayer Leverkusen is expected to receive an €8.5 million windfall due to a 50 percent sell-on clause on future transfer profits negotiated when they sold the player to the Spanish club.
Puerta, 23, has had a varied European career, including stints with Bayer Leverkusen, 1. FC Nürnberg, and Hull City. Following his successful performances in Spain and at the World Cup, the move to Nottingham Forest includes a contract lasting until 2030. His loan to Olympiacos is intended to provide regular playing time in Greece as he prepares for a future role in the Premier League.
