Gustavo Santos prepares for first Enem exam

Gustavo Santos, a 19-year-old student at the Federal Institute of Amazonas (Ifam) in Manaus, is preparing to take the National High School Exam (Enem) for the first time. Diagnosed with autism at age four, Gustavo is currently completing a technical course in landscaping and hopes to pursue studies in philosophy or biology.

His instructor, Joyce Machado, noted that while he excels in digital tasks, he faces sensory challenges in field work due to unfamiliar textures and noises. Despite these obstacles, his family and teachers report significant progress in his academic performance and persistence. The Ministry of Education (MEC) provides digital tools to assist students in their exam preparations.
