Gustavo Scarpa discusses rejected São Paulo transfer

Gustavo Scarpa, a midfielder for Atlético Mineiro, has revealed details regarding a potential transfer to São Paulo FC that did not materialize during the last transfer window. The player confirmed he held discussions with São Paulo's coach, Dorival Junior, and football executive Rafinha.

Scarpa explained that he ultimately decided to remain with Atlético Mineiro because he believed in his ability to recover his position in the squad following knee surgery. He noted that while São Paulo required an immediate response, he preferred to focus on proving his value at his current club. Since returning from surgery, Scarpa has appeared in several matches as a substitute, which he says has reinforced his confidence in his potential to succeed with Atlético Mineiro.
