Gutenberg Bible donated to Folgore Brigade for museum display
A two-volume Gutenberg Bible has been donated to the Folgore Paratroopers Brigade and will be permanently exhibited at the Historical Museum of the Aviotruppe in Pisa. The work, produced using traditional manuscript and typographic techniques, is one of only eight copies in existence.
The donation was made by the Fondazione Scriptorium Foroiuliense of San Daniele del Friuli, led by President Roberto Giurano. The handover took place during celebrations for the 84th anniversary of the Battle of El Alamein. The artifact was created using a digital acquisition from the Bodleian Library in Oxford and printed on cotton paper.
