Guto Miguel defeated by Valentin Royer at Kingston Challenger
Brazilian tennis player Guto Miguel, the current leader of the junior rankings, was eliminated in the first round of the Kingston Challenger in Jamaica. The 17-year-old faced his first professional opponent ranked in the ATP top 100, Frenchman Valentin Royer, who is currently ranked 78th.
In a match lasting nearly three hours, Royer defeated Miguel in three sets. After a dominant first set by the Frenchman, Miguel fought back in the second set, winning a tie-break to force a decider. However, Royer regained control in the third set to secure the victory.
Following this loss, Miguel remains in Jamaica to compete in doubles alongside Gustavo Heide and is scheduled to participate in another Challenger tournament next week.
