Guy Forget to support Hugo Gaston at Brest Challenger
Former world number four Guy Forget will accompany French tennis player Hugo Gaston during the Brest Challenger tournament, scheduled from October 26 to November 1. Gaston, currently ranked 93rd in the world, requested Forget’s advice and guidance on the circuit following a recent early exit in Brussels.
Forget has clarified that he is not yet acting as Gaston’s official coach, describing the arrangement as a trial period or a “first contact” rather than a full-time coaching role. He intends to provide minor technical adjustments, which he referred to as “sprinkling” advice during training and matches, rather than implementing major changes to Gaston’s game.
While the collaboration is currently limited to the Brest event, there is potential for a more permanent partnership heading into the 2027 season. This would mark Forget’s first experience as a personal coach on the ATP tour, as his previous leadership roles have been limited to captaining the French Davis Cup and Fed Cup teams.
