Guy Pearce to star in Andrew Baird’s Irish thriller Bottle

Actor Guy Pearce is set to star in the upcoming Irish crime thriller Bottle, directed by Andrew Baird. The film marks the fourth collaboration between Pearce and Baird, following their work on Zone 414, Sunrise, and The Marshal.

The plot centers on Jimmy, a violent pub owner played by Pearce, who holds a young man named Cillian captive inside his bar after Cillian enters seeking a pint. Director Andrew Baird has described the project as an inherently Irish film influenced by 1970s crime cinema, aiming to explore a dark and traumatic side of Ireland.

The screenplay was written by Roberto Forte and Eamonn O’Brien. Production is scheduled to take place on location in Ireland.
