The Guyana Amazon Warriors secured their second consecutive victory in the Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL), defeating the Saint Lucia Kings by seven wickets at the Darren Sammy Cricket Ground. The win moves the Warriors to the top of the tournament table.
After the Kings were restricted to 151-7, the Warriors' bowling unit led by Dwaine Pretorius, who took 3-29, and Shamar Joseph, who took 2-25, effectively contained the opposition. In the chase, Mavendra Dindyal scored his maiden CPL half-century (50 off 51 balls), supported by an opening partnership of 79 runs with Glenn Phillips.
The match concluded with a rapid finish as Shimron Hetmyer and Quentin Sampson combined for 35 runs in just 10 deliveries to seal the win. Warriors captain Imran Tahir praised the team's blend of youth and experience, specifically noting Dindyal's composure against senior fast bowler Matthew Forde.
