Guyana and Qatar discuss expanding investment and energy cooperation

Guyana’s President Irfaan Ali and the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, held official talks in Doha during a three-day state visit to strengthen bilateral relations. The discussions focused heavily on expanding investment cooperation and exploring opportunities in the energy sector.

In addition to investment, the leaders addressed food security, mining, digitization, and infrastructure. High-level meetings were also held with Qatari ministers to discuss collaboration in education, culture, and heritage, as well as potential partnerships between the private sectors of both nations. Other topics of discussion included climate change, global biodiversity, and carbon credits.
