Guyana launches Guy Expo 2026 and creative economy initiatives

Guyana is implementing new economic strategies focused on investment and the development of its creative sectors. The Guy Expo 2026 has been officially launched, scheduled to take place from November 12 to 15 at the National Exhibition Centre in Sophia. Under the theme ‘Creating Tomorrow’s Opportunities Through Today’s Investments’, the event aims to connect businesses, investors, and partners to showcase local talent and enterprise.

Simultaneously, the government is advancing an ‘Orange Economy’ framework to transform the nation’s creative and cultural industries into a sustainable commercial hub. According to the Ministry of Finance’s 2026 Mid-Year Report, this initiative seeks to monetize disciplines such as film, music, fashion, and performing arts. The strategy focuses on building institutional infrastructure and intellectual property protections to transition local artists into full-time, sustainable careers through public-private partnerships and large-scale projects like the $1.3B Palmyra Cultural Market.
