Guyana oil revenues projected at US$1 billion per month
Guyana is experiencing significant oil revenue growth following the commercial discovery of oil in May 2015. In July 2026, the country produced an estimated 27.5 million barrels of oil. With Brent crude averaging US$83.74 per barrel that month, the total production value reached approximately US$2.3 billion.
Based on government estimates, Guyana’s share of these revenues consists of a 39.8% portion plus a 2% royalty. This resulted in approximately US$961 million in revenue for July 2026. As Brent crude prices have risen above US$100 per barrel, monthly revenues for Guyana are projected to reach approximately US$1 billion for the remainder of the year.
To provide context to these figures, Guyana’s entire national budget in 2015 was approximately US$1 billion, a sum that previously supported all national services including healthcare, education, and infrastructure.
