Guyana police seek suspects in murder of Cuban national

The Guyana Police Force has issued new wanted bulletins for several individuals in connection with the May 2026 murder of Dainier Vegas Infante, a 23-year-old Cuban national. The victim was fatally shot while working as a janitor at a nightlife venue in Georgetown.

Nicholas Daby and Makhail Mario Joseph reportedly surrendered to the Brickdam police station on October 2, accompanied by legal counsel. Despite their surrender, police have reissued wanted bulletins for them to be taken into custody for questioning.

Authorities are also seeking Olofi De Santos, Jermaine Castello, and Rodrick Thomas. Investigators report that the shooting occurred when an armed individual approached a group outside a bar on Forshaw Street; when Vegas Infante approached the group, the suspect discharged a firearm. The perpetrators fled the scene in a motor vehicle that has since been impounded.
