Guyana to invest $545.7M in National Cultural Centre rehabilitation

The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport is inviting bids for a $545.7 million project to rehabilitate and modernize the National Cultural Centre. The works are intended to restore the building’s exterior, address structural cracks, and upgrade internal infrastructure.

Planned improvements include the modernization of performers’ dressing rooms and public washroom facilities. The project aims to ensure the venue remains a functional space for local artists, cultural practitioners, and national events while preserving its role as a central hub for the country’s artistic expression.

Following technical assessments and design finalization by consultants earlier this year, bids are scheduled to be opened on November 10, 2026, at the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board.
