Guyana's Men on Mission initiative provides new homes to 10 families

Ten vulnerable families in the East Berbice-Corentyne region of Guyana have been provided with newly constructed, fully furnished homes through the Men on Mission (MoM) initiative. The program targets individuals and groups facing significant hardships, including elderly citizens and stroke survivors.

Minister of Agriculture Zulfikar Mustapha presented the keys to the new residences on behalf of President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali. Among the beneficiaries are Jerry and Rosaline Alexander, an elderly couple who lost their previous home to a fire, and Dankumarie Balkarran, a stroke survivor who received a home designed for her specific needs. Other recipients include Sharmila Seetaram and Nazim Ganni of Sisters Village, both of whom also lost their previous homes to fire.

Minister Mustapha stated that these homes are being built and furnished at no cost to the recipients. He noted that the initiative is part of the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) manifesto commitments to provide housing to vulnerable Guyanese citizens.
