Guyana's Ogle Airport reports record domestic traffic and announces G$204M expansion

The Eugene F. Correia International Airport, known as Ogle Airport, recorded 267,503 domestic passengers in 2025 – a 14.6% increase over the previous year and the highest level in its history. International traffic fell to 73,119 passengers, down 10.7%.

During its Annual General Meeting on 26 June 2026, Ogle Airport Inc. elected a new Board of Directors, including Chairman Michael O. Correia Jr. He said, "the year demonstrated two important realities. First, domestic aviation demand in Guyana is expanding rapidly and sustainably. Second, the airport must continue investing aggressively to keep pace with the country’s broader economic transformation."

The company unveiled a G$204 million investment programme covering 11 capital projects aimed at expanding apron space, improving security, enhancing cargo and maintenance facilities, and further developing the airport’s commercial corridor. The expansion follows a long‑term growth strategy that began in 2003 and built upon the airport’s 2009 Port of Entry status, positioning it as a key regional gateway for commerce, tourism, and healthcare access in Guyana.
