Guyanese organizations award bursaries to top NGSA students

Several organizations in Guyana are providing financial support to students following the National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) to reward academic excellence.

Banks DIH Limited recently distributed five-year bursaries to 20 top-performing students. These recipients join 80 other students currently supported by the company’s bursary programme. Finance Director Deonarain Seepaul encouraged the scholars to remain curious and balanced as they transition to new schools.

Similarly, the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) held its annual Bursary Programme, which has been active since 2019. This year, 20 students were selected from over 40 nominations. Each recipient is eligible for $25,000 per academic year, contingent upon maintaining an academic average of at least 75 per cent. Human Resources Director Rohmena Chung noted that the programme serves as both a reward and an incentive for continued academic success.
