G&V Ortaggi cherry tomatoes recalled due to Salmonella
The Italian Ministry of Health has issued a recall for G&V Ortaggi cherry tomatoes due to the presence of Salmonella spp. The affected product is distributed in approximately 6.5 kg crates under lot number 210. The company is based in Gela, Caltanissetta.
Consumers are advised not to consume the product and to return it to the point of sale for a replacement or a full refund. Salmonella infection can cause symptoms such as fever, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, which typically last between four and seven days. Vulnerable groups, including the elderly and children, may face more severe complications.
Additionally, a separate recall has been issued for two lots (026 and 251) of ‘Oggi Cucino Bio’ meat tortellini produced by Agripasta Srl. This recall is due to allergens not being correctly declared on the label.
