Gwalior: Retired excise officer assaulted in home dispute

A retired excise officer, Rakesh Sharma, was allegedly assaulted inside his home in the Kailash Vihar area of Gwalior. According to the police complaint, the accused, Rajnish Dwivedi—identified as a traffic policeman and a relative of the victim—entered the residence on September 19 to settle an old dispute.

During the confrontation, Dwivedi reportedly used physical violence against Sharma, causing injuries to his head, lip, eye, and limbs. Sharma’s wife, Rajni Sharma, was also reportedly assaulted when she attempted to intervene. The incident was captured on CCTV cameras located within the residence.

The victim further alleged that Dwivedi issued death threats, stating he would kill the couple, even while at the police station. Local authorities have initiated an investigation based on the formal complaint filed at the University police station.
