Gwanak-gu named excellent institution for local finance execution

Gwanak-gu has been named an excellent institution in the second half of 2025 local finance rapid execution evaluation by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. This marks the third time the district has been recognized as an excellent institution in 2025, following successful evaluations in the first quarter and the first half of the year.

Gwanak-gu holds the distinction of being the only autonomous district in Seoul to be selected as an excellent institution for eight consecutive years. The evaluation, which covered 243 local governments nationwide, assessed budget execution performance, early achievement rates, and quarterly consumption and investment results.

The district focused its spending on job creation, social overhead capital (SOC) projects, support for small and medium-sized businesses, and revitalizing the local construction industry. In the third quarter, Gwanak-gu achieved a 137.3% execution rate in consumption and investment, spending 63.4 billion won against a target of 46.2 billion won. In the fourth quarter, it reached 121.2%, spending 88.7 billion won against a 73.2 billion won target.

Overall, the district executed 1.2939 trillion won out of a total budget of 1.4133 trillion won, representing a 91.5% execution rate. Through these consistent achievements during the 7th and 8th local elections, the district has secured a total of 899 million won in special local allocation taxes.
