Gwanak-gu submits resident petition for Nangok Line light rail

Gwanak-gu officials and residents have submitted a petition containing over 42,000 signatures to the South Korean government to advocate for the rapid advancement of the Nangok Line light rail project.

The proposed 4.08km underground light rail line, which would connect Boramae Park Station to Nanhyang-dong, is intended to alleviate long-standing transportation issues in the Nangok area. This submission follows a recent two-week online and offline campaign that gathered 42,139 signatures. When combined with previous petitions from last year, the total number of residents supporting the project has reached approximately 96,000.

District Mayor Park Jun-hee and resident representatives visited the Ministry of Economy and Finance to express the community's strong desire for the project to pass its preliminary feasibility study. The results of this study are expected to be announced in December. The district office plans to continue cooperating with the Seoul Metropolitan Government and relevant agencies to ensure the project's successful progression.
