Gwangju and Jeonnam athletes excel in National Para Games shooting preliminaries

Athletes from Gwangju and Jeonnam achieved significant success during the preliminary shooting events of the 46th National Para Games held at the Changwon International Shooting Range. Together, the two delegations secured a total of 12 medals, including 5 gold, 5 silver, and 2 bronze.

In Gwangju, Park Seung-woo delivered a standout performance, winning four gold medals and setting a new non-official Paralympic record in the mixed air rifle R4 individual event. Other notable achievements from the Gwangju team included gold medals in the R4 and R5 team events and medals from athletes Park Hye-hwa and Lee Jeong-je.

The Jeonnam delegation earned 4 medals, highlighted by Baek Seung-hak winning gold in the men's air rifle ISSF individual event. Veteran athlete Lee Yun-ri contributed two silver medals and a bronze in the mixed 50m rifle prone team event.

Reflecting a trend toward administrative integration between Gwangju and Jeonnam, the two delegations are operating as a unified team, sharing common uniforms and holding joint ceremonies. The main competition of the 46th National Para Games is scheduled to take place in Jeju from September 11 to 16.
