Gwangju education office launches university major experience program

The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education is operating the ‘2026 2nd Dream Workshop’ program to assist high school students with career and academic planning. Running until November 13, the initiative involves 362 first- and second-year high school students participating in intensive career experiences across 26 different majors.

Ten local universities are collaborating to provide these programs, including Gwangju National University of Education, Gwangju University, Chonnam National University, Chosun University, and Honam University, among others. The curriculum covers a wide range of fields, from future industries like AI, semiconductors, drones, and renewable energy to specialized sectors such as healthcare, forensic science, police administration, aviation services, and culinary arts.

Students engage in hands-on learning through experiments, projects, and discussions guided by professors and industry experts in university classrooms and laboratories. Those who maintain an attendance rate of over 70% are eligible to have their participation recorded in the ‘Creative Experiential Activities’ section of their official school records.
