Gwangju hosts South Korea-Japan youth archery exchange
The Gwangju Sports Council is hosting the ‘2026 Korea-Japan Regional Archery Youth Sports Exchange’ from the 24th to the 28th at the Gwangju International Archery Field and other locations in Gwangju.
Approximately 60 participants, including youth archers and coaches from Gwangju and Japan, are taking part in the five-day event. The program includes joint training sessions, record matches, and team competitions. A highlight of the exchange is a seminar and one-point lesson provided by former national team members, such as Choi Mi-sun, Lee Seung-yun, and Joo Hyun-jung.
In addition to athletic training, the participants will engage in cultural exchange by visiting local sites like the Gwangju City Museum. This initiative, supported by the Gwangju Archery Association, has been an ongoing tradition since 2018 to promote friendship and improve athletic performance through international cooperation.
