Gwangju launches subsidized rabies vaccination program for pets

Gwangju Metropolitan City has announced a rabies vaccination program for registered dogs and cats to protect both pets and citizens. The initiative will run for 15 days, from October 16 to October 30.

During this period, the cost of vaccination will be reduced to 5,000 KRW, down from the usual price of approximately 20,000 KRW. The city has allocated 3,830 doses to 89 designated veterinary hospitals across the Gwangju area. The program operates on a first-come, first-served basis, and vaccinations may conclude early if supplies are exhausted. Pet owners are advised to bring their animal registration certificates or identification tags to participating clinics.
