Gwangju Shinsegae Eye Clinic achieves top national ranking for ZEISS intraocular lenses
Gwangju Shinsegae Eye Clinic has announced that it ranked first in South Korea over the last three years for cumulative sales of ZEISS intraocular lenses used in cataract surgeries. According to data from the global optics company ZEISS, the clinic recorded 8,289 applications of their lenses.
The clinic has utilized a wide range of products from various manufacturers, including Johnson & Johnson, Physiolog, Alcon, Hoya, and Optic, with total cumulative applications of non-monofocal lenses exceeding 20,000. This diversity allows the clinic to tailor lens selection to individual patient needs, considering factors such as corneal and retinal health, astigmatism, pupil size, and lifestyle requirements like night driving or near-distance tasks.
In related ophthalmic developments, medical experts highlight the importance of precision in vision correction. The SMILE Pro procedure is gaining attention for its ability to improve astigmatism correction through features like the ‘oculine’ function, which helps align the astigmatism axis during surgery. Experts emphasize that successful outcomes depend on thorough pre-operative examinations and selecting surgical methods tailored to individual eye conditions, such as corneal thickness and tear film stability.
