The Gwangmyeong City Dementia Relief Center has received the Minister of Health and Welfare Award after earning an ‘A grade’ in the second cycle (2025–2026) of the Dementia Relief Center Operation Evaluation. This marks the second consecutive period the center has achieved the highest rating, following its success in the first cycle (2023–2024).
The evaluation, conducted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, assessed 256 centers nationwide across 27 indicators in three categories: dementia infrastructure construction, dementia service provision and management, and regional dementia capacity building. Among 32 institutions in the ‘general city’ category, only three received the A grade.

The city also received high marks for its efforts to create a dementia-friendly community through awareness campaigns and the training of dementia partners.
