Gwangmyeong City discusses economic cooperation with Austin delegation

Gwangmyeong City officials met with an economic exchange delegation from Austin, Texas, and the Central Texas region to discuss industrial cooperation and investment opportunities. The delegation, which included approximately 30 business leaders and administrators such as Austin Deputy City Manager Michael Rogers and Austin Asia Chamber of Commerce (GAACC) Chairman Minh Tran, visited Gwangmyeong on May 29.

During the visit, Gwangmyeong officials, led by Vice Mayor Choi Hye-min, presented the city’s investment environment and business support systems. The meeting aimed to facilitate the entry of local Korean companies into the U.S. market and expand networks between institutions and corporations in both regions.

Gwangmyeong and Austin have maintained a sister-city relationship since 2001, collaborating on education, culture, and climate change response. The two cities plan to further strengthen economic ties as they approach the 25th anniversary of their partnership this November.
