Gwangmyeong City to host 2026 Book Festival

Gwangmyeong City will host the ‘2026 Gwangmyeong Book Festival’ on September 19 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Gwangmyeong Citizens' Gymnasium outdoor grass plaza. Under the theme ‘The Start of Infinite Exploration, a Kind Book Journey!’, the festival aims to foster community solidarity through literature.

This year’s event features expanded participation from the Gwangmyeong Education Support Office and local schools, allowing students to act as active organizers through booths and volunteer work. The program includes a magic and balloon art show, fusion pansori performances, and a book concert by author Woo Shin-young. Other activities include a family book expedition, puppet shows, a book market, and a flea market.

Pre-registration for specific programs is available on the Gwangmyeong City Library website until September 14. The festival site will also feature a book playground, coloring zones, and photo zones to provide a relaxing environment for families.
