Gwangmyeong City to host 500-person citizen roundtable discussion
Gwangmyeong City has announced it will host the 9th Gwangmyeong Citizen 500-Person Roundtable Discussion on September 19 at the Gwangmyeong Citizen Gymnasium. Under the slogan ‘Again, Gwangmyeong Drawn by Citizens,’ the event aims to involve 500 residents in shaping the city's future direction at the start of the new local administration.
The discussion is divided into two main parts. The first part focuses on selecting policy priorities across eight key areas, including basic society and care, local economy, future growth, transportation, sustainable green cities, culture and sports, lifelong learning, and citizen sovereignty. Participants will use discussion and voting to determine which policies should be prioritized.
The second part involves direct policy proposals from citizens to address daily inconveniences and regional needs. To ensure these ideas translate into action, the city will strengthen the deliberation and review process. This includes a ‘100-Person Deliberative Discussion’ scheduled for October 1, where citizens and experts will evaluate the feasibility of the proposals.
