Gwangsan World Night Market to be held in Gwangju Koryoin Village
Gwangsan-gu will host the 3rd Gwangsan World Night Market on October 3 at the Koryoin Village in Gwangju. Themed ‘A Street Connecting the World, Connecting City Gwangsan’, the event runs from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM along Mokryeon-ro and the Koryoin Village specialized street.
The festival features approximately 40 food stalls offering international cuisine and desserts, alongside 35 cultural experience zones. Highlights include a parade of participants in traditional costumes from 11 countries, world culture performances, and a DJ EDM show. Eight village markets run by Koryoin residents and Asian traditional game experiences will also be available.
To promote local commerce, the district will provide visitors with 5,000 won vouchers for use at nearby shops. The event is designed to link cultural festivities with historical exploration, allowing visitors to tour sites such as the Koryoin Culture Center, Hong Beom-do Park, and the Moon Victor Art Museum via guided tours that detail the history of independence movements, forced migration, and settlement in Gwangju.
