Gwangyang officials visit Yeosu World Island Expo to support regional cooperation

Gwangyang Mayor Park Seong-hyeon and city officials visited the site of the 2026 Yeosu World Island Expo to express support for the event's success and strengthen regional cooperation.

The visit, part of a collaborative effort between Yeosu, Suncheon, and Gwangyang, aimed to promote mutual growth within the Gwangyang Bay area. During the visit, officials viewed exhibitions focused on the value of islands and oceans and discussed sustainable futures. Mayor Park stated that the cities would support one another's challenges to ensure the benefits reach the entire Gwangyang Bay region. Additionally, the Mayor expressed commitment to joining efforts to host the COP33 summit in the South Coast South-Central region.
