Gwardia Opole and Kacper Urbański lead Polish sports updates
Gwardia Opole is preparing to launch its new season on September 5 following a period of significant roster changes. After failing to reach the playoffs last season, the club has seen the departure of six players, including Daniel Jendryca, Admir Pelidija, and Filip Wrzesiński. To bolster the squad, the club has recruited at least five new players, including an international trio from Lotto Puławy consisting of Dmytro Artemenko, Dan Emil Racotea, and Daniel Wisiński, as well as Croatian player Kajo Cikatic.
In Polish football, Kacper Urbański is experiencing a resurgence at Górnik Zabrze. After a difficult period at Legia Warszawa, the 21-year-old midfielder has become a key figure for the Zabrze-based club. Following his previous experience in Serie A with Bologna and appearances for the Polish national team, Urbański has recorded twelve appearances, three goals, and two assists since joining Górnik. Coach Marek Papszun noted the difficulty of integrating players into a large squad, but Urbański’s current form has positioned him as one of the league's top midfielders.
