GWM Haval H7 SUV unveiled for Europe, eyed for Brazil launch

China’s GWM has officially unveiled the Haval H7 SUV for the European market, with commercial entry slated for the fourth quarter of 2026, beginning in Italy. The model is priced around €40,000 (about R$245,000) and is offered with three powertrains: a gasoline‑only 2.0‑litre turbo, a full hybrid 1.5‑litre turbo paired with a single electric motor (265 hp), and a plug‑in hybrid Hi4 system that combines the 1.5‑litre turbo with two electric motors for a total output of 449 hp and 76.5 kg·m of torque. The PHEV version accelerates from 0‑100 km/h in 5.4 seconds, uses a 33.8 kWh battery with fast DC charging, and provides over 100 km of electric range, while the WLTC‑approved fuel consumption is 15.3 km / l.

The H7 features a boxy, off‑road‑inspired design with a high front fascia, rectangular LED headlights, pronounced wheel arches and a rear spare‑wheel compartment, recalling models such as the Land Rover Defender and Mercedes‑Benz G‑Class. Inside, a 12.3‑inch digital instrument cluster and a 16‑inch floating touchscreen run on GWM’s Coffee OS. The SUV measures about 4.8 m in length, seats five, and can tow up to 2.3 tonnes.

GWM is also planning a launch in Brazil. The Brazilian version is expected to carry a less powerful hybrid‑plug‑in system, roughly 326 hp, to keep pricing near R$300,000, positioning the H7 between the existing H6 and H9 models in the local lineup.
