GWM launches Haval H9 Selection SUV in Brazil at R$339,000
Great Wall Motors (GWM) introduced the Haval H9 Selection, a premium seven‑seat diesel SUV, to the Brazilian market for R$339,000. The model is offered only in a Gray Zenith finish, with exclusive 19‑inch alloy wheels, a brown leather‑like interior, and black‑bright accents on the front grille and headlamp surrounds. It retains the H9’s 2.4‑liter turbo‑diesel engine delivering 184 hp and 480 Nm of torque, paired with a nine‑speed automatic transmission and full‑time 4×4 with low‑range.
The vehicle features a 10.25‑inch digital instrument panel, a 14.6‑inch full‑HD multimedia screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 50 W wireless smartphone charger and a premium sound system. GWM backs the SUV with a ten‑year warranty on major mechanical components. The launch follows the H9’s recent sales surge, leading Brazil’s large‑SUV segment with 1,220 units sold in May, after first taking the category lead in March.
Pricing positions the Haval H9 Selection well below the Toyota SW4 Diamond, which sells for roughly R$476,000, creating a price gap of about R$137,000 while offering comparable dimensions and fuel consumption.
