Automakers announce major product launches at Festival Interlagos
The Brazilian automotive market is experiencing significant shifts, highlighted by major announcements at the Festival Interlagos. Chinese manufacturers are aggressively expanding their presence. Dongfeng (DFM) has officially entered the market with the electric Vigo SUV and Box hatchback, supported by an ambitious plan to establish 60 stores across 21 states. Similarly, BAIC is launching with a strategy modeled after GWM, introducing the Arcfox T1 electric hatch. MG Motor is moving into the premium segment through its luxury division, IM Motors, which will debut the high-performance IM6 electric SUV, featuring 767 hp, in late 2026.
Established brands are also updating their portfolios. Ford confirmed the arrival of the F-150 Raptor in 2027 and is introducing the 2026 Mustang GT Performance with a 492 hp V8 engine. Jeep is launching an 85th Anniversary special series across its entire lineup, including the Avenger, Renegade, Compass, and Commander. Meanwhile, GWM continues to expand its electric offerings with the Ora 5 and is preparing to launch the Tank 400 Flex SUV in 2026. Additionally, Leapmotor has introduced the B10 REEV, an ultra-hybrid SUV designed to mitigate range anxiety through a gasoline-powered generator system.
