Gwyneth Paltrow to star in Netflix drama ‘The Apology’

Gwyneth Paltrow is set to star in her first leading television role in the upcoming A24 drama series ‘The Apology’, which has received a two-season order from Netflix.

Paltrow will portray Evelyn Amspoker, a mother dealing with the aftermath of her son’s murder 18 years prior. The plot follows Evelyn and her husband, Caleb, as they face a sudden confession from a stranger regarding the cold case. When the couple learns the perpetrator might receive a reduced sentence, they decide to take justice into their own hands.

The series is created, written, and showrun by Joe Murtagh, known for ‘The Woman in the Wall’. Oscar-winning director Thomas Vinterberg is attached to direct, and Joe Hipps of Cut To will serve as an executive producer alongside Murtagh, Vinterberg, and Paltrow.
