Gyeongbuk and Jeonnam-Gwangju hold cooperation festival in Gyeongju

The 2026 Yeongnam-Honam Win-Win Cooperation Harmony Festival was held from October 30 to November 1 in Gyeongju, marking the first major exchange event following the establishment of the Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City. The three-day event, themed “Beyond coexistence, toward the future of Korea!”, focused on expanding regional cooperation from cultural and artistic exchanges to practical economic sectors such as tourism and agriculture.

During the opening ceremony at the Gyeongju HICO, officials from both regions participated in various programs, including a joint performance by artists and a symbolic ceremony using the Divine Bell of King Seongdeok. To support regional development, the Gyeongbuk and Jeonnam Agricultural Cooperatives (Nonghyup) conducted a cross-donation of 40 million won in Hometown Love donations, with each organization contributing 20 million won.

The festival also featured a marketplace for local agricultural and fishery products, where items were sold at discounts of up to 30% to promote regional sales. Gyeongbuk Province intends to use this momentum to develop mutually beneficial projects by linking the industrial, cultural, and tourism resources of both regions.
