Gyeongbuk delegation wins nine medals at National Skills Competition for the Disabled

The Gyeongbuk provincial delegation achieved significant success at the 43rd National Skills Competition for the Disabled held in Busan. Out of 27 participants competing in 20 different job categories, nine members secured medals, including two gold, four silver, and two bronze awards, along with one encouragement award.

Notably, Kim Gyu-ho, a computer repair specialist from Pohang, was selected as a national representative. He will compete in the 11th International Skills Olympics scheduled to take place in Helsinki, Finland, in May next year.

In addition to medals and prize money, winners receive benefits such as exemptions from written and practical exams for national technical qualification certifications. Local officials from the Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities and the Gyeongbuk branch of the Korea Association for Employment Stability for the Disabled stated they will continue to support vocational training and job placement to foster independence for skilled disabled workers.
