Gyeongbuk Province backs 21‑trillion‑won projects in Uiseong County

Uiseong County officials asked the Gyeongsangbuk-do government for support on 16 major projects totaling about 21.7 trillion won, including an airport‑centered economic zone, aviation logistics hub, regional transport network, tourism complex and flood‑control works. County mayor Choi Yoo‑cheol met with Governor Lee Cheol‑woo to discuss funding and administrative assistance, and the province pledged to review the proposals.

Separately, Kim Jin‑o, deputy chair of the Low‑Birth and Aging Society Committee, visited the Gyeongbuk provincial office to review the region’s comprehensive policies addressing declining birth rates and an aging population. He highlighted the province’s “Low Birth and War” program, the proposed national population research institute, and urged broader adoption of successful local measures at the national level.
