Gyeonggi Province offers free labor consulting for small businesses

Gyeonggi Province has announced a program to provide free labor management consulting to small businesses to prevent violations of labor laws. This initiative comes ahead of the December implementation of the local labor inspector system, which will allow local governments to conduct inspections regarding wage arrears, working conditions, and industrial safety.

The program is targeting businesses with between 5 and 30 employees. Participating businesses will receive on-site visits from experts, such as certified labor attorneys, to review employment contracts, wage and allowance calculations, working hour management, and severance pay procedures. Applications are being accepted until November 20.

To prepare for the new regulatory environment, the province is also working to recruit 170 local labor inspectors and establish dedicated organizations following a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
