Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education launches wall-breaking policy

The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education has announced the ‘Wall-breaking Education Policy Basic Plan,’ a strategic initiative led by Superintendent Ahn Min-seok. The policy aims to dismantle administrative barriers between educational and general administration to foster stronger cooperation between schools and local communities.

Key components of the plan include the establishment of a ‘Wall-breaking Cooperation Officer’ system to bridge the gap between the education office and local governments, and the development of ‘region-specific wall-breaking brands’ to support student-centered education. The initiative also seeks to utilize local infrastructure, such as Edu-buses, to expand educational support and reduce the administrative burden on teachers.

A formal agreement ceremony is scheduled for September 9 at Wondong Elementary School. During this event, the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education and the Gyeonggi Provincial Government will declare a joint vision under the theme, ‘It takes a whole village to raise a child,’ and sign agreements to implement ten core tasks for regional educational cooperation.
