Gyeongnam fisheries workers hold unity event in Tongyeong

Approximately 2,000 fisheries workers from Gyeongnam gathered at Tongyeong Life Sports Park for the 15th Gyeongnam Fisheries People's Unity Convention. Held under the theme ‘The sea we protected together, the future of fisheries growing together’, the event aimed to foster communication and solidarity within the industry.

Key officials, including Noh Dong-jin, Chairman of the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives, attended the ceremony. Chairman Noh emphasized the importance of maritime safety, urging participants to make wearing life jackets a daily habit to prevent accidents during fishing operations.

The convention also recognized 27 individuals for their contributions to the development of the fisheries industry with commendations from the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives and the Gyeongnam Provincial Governor. Side activities included promotional booths for fishing vessel safety, mutual aid, and policy insurance.
