Gyeongsangbuk-do and Daegu unveil senior appointments under 9th elected term

Gyeongsangbuk-do (North Gyeongsang Province) announced its first personnel changes under the ninth elected term on May 31. Governor Lee Cheol‑woo oversaw promotions including Kim Sang‑cheol, previously APEC support team leader, appointed as safety administration head. Other promotions: Gu Kwang‑mo to food‑culture industry director, Lee Sang‑su to local‑government strategy director, and several city‑level officials promoted, including the first female deputy county head in Uiseong.

Daegu city also carried out its first large‑scale senior‑level reshuffle ahead of the 9th‑term reorganization on March 3. Mayor Choo Kyung‑ho appointed Lee Sang‑min as head of the One‑Stop Investment Center, and placed officials such as Heo Jun‑seok as airport‑policy director, Heo Ju‑young as transport director, and Kim Dong‑hyuk as new airport‑policy chief. Additional appointments covered urban construction, climate‑energy‑environment, and other key departments.
