Gyeongsangbuk-do hosts Marine and Fisheries Expo

The 2026 Marine and Fisheries Expo is being held in Daegu from the 18th to the 20th to promote the excellence of regional seafood and discover growth engines for the marine industry. Hosted by Gyeongsangbuk-do and organized by the Hwandonghae Industry Research Institute, the event features 83 companies across 200 booths.

A major highlight includes a projected $5 million export contract and a memorandum of understanding between Gyeongsangbuk-do, Indonesian buyer PT INDOGAL AGRO TRADING, and local seafood company Ajin Co., Ltd. The expo aims to expand overseas markets for regional seafood enterprises.

The event also showcases future technologies, including AI virtual humans for seafood promotion, underwater drones, robotic fish, and marine waste recycling products. Additional programs include an IR demo day for startups, product evaluations with major mart MDs, and a seafood school meal competition.
