Gyeongsangbuk-do marks 400th session of weekly civil servant study program

The Gyeongsangbuk-do provincial government celebrated the 400th session of its ‘Hwagong Good Morning Special Lecture’ series, a weekly study program for civil servants that has been running every Tuesday morning since November 2018.

Initiated by Governor Lee Cheol-woo to encourage continuous learning and adaptation to rapid societal changes, the program invites experts to discuss topics such as industrial science, population demographics, culture, tourism, and international affairs. Recent sessions have focused on the AI transition, regional industrial shifts, and the 2025 APEC Summit in Gyeongju.

To commemorate the milestone, the province held a special event featuring a lecture by former Deputy Prime Minister Gu Yun-cheol on ‘The Path of Gyeongsangbuk-do in the AI Era.’ The province also published the fourth volume of its lecture collection, documenting insights from sessions 301 to 400. Governor Lee emphasized that the program will continue to help the province navigate future trends in sectors like AI, robotics, bio-industry, and food technology.
